5月16日、家庭医療、総合診療の国際学会 WONCA APR 2019(京都国際会館)におけるの僕の発表が、”Outstanding Student Activity Award”を受賞しました。
僕の発表に来てくれたみなさん、ありがとうございました。今回、僕は部長を努め、５年以上活動して来た大阪医科大学国際交流部の活動について発表させていただきました。
国際交流部の活動は留学生と受け入れ元の大学生双方に多大な利益があること、留学生との交流を学生組織が受け持つことの意義、学生がツアーガイドとなって留学生に英語で説明をする意義、低学年のうちに国際交流活動を体験できる意義、１年間に６カ国８大学の留学生と交流することにより、日本に居ながらにして留学体験ができる意義などを説明させていただきました。
会場のアジア各国からの参加者が非常に興味を持って聞いていただき、僕たちが当たり前と思って日常的に行っている留学生との交流活動は、日本や世界の多くの大学ではそうではないことを改めて思い知らされました。
僕自身、国際交流活動を通じて留学生から教わったこと、先輩から教わったことは数限りなくあります。時に単発で終わったり、個人の体験に留まりがちな国際交流ではなく、国際交流部があることの利点は、その継続性なのです。重要なのは、2006年に創設され13年間蓄積した国際交流部の経験とノウハウを次代に繋いで行くことなのです。今回、この発表をすることで、その活動の一端を記録として残すことができたのは、意義があることだと信じます。
会場では、たくさんのアジア各国からの参加者から、大阪医大への留学について問い合わせを受けました。これにより、さらに交流の和が広がればこんなにうれしいことはありません。
鈴木先生、小野先生ら発表を指導していただいた先生方、これまで国際交流部の活動を支えていただいた部員達、参加してくれた大阪医大生、全ての留学生に感謝申し上げます。 これを読んで興味を持った人は、ぜひ国際交流部の活動に参加してみてください。

I made a poster presentation at WONCA APR Conference 2019 on May 16th. My presentation at WONCA APR 2019 was awarded the “Outstanding Student Activity Award”.
Thank you those who came to my poster presentation at WONCA APR Conference 2019 today. I presented the activities of the OMC international Communication Club, which I’m a member of 5 years and served as the president last year.
I illustrated that the activities of ICC is beneficial for both the visiting international students and OMC students, the importance of student-run organization leading exchange activities, the importance of student-guided local tour, the benefit of providing a training environment for junior students, the unique virtual study-abroad experience by seeing students from 8 universities in 6 countries a year.
I was so happy that the audiences from various asian countries were eager to listen to my presentation and I was reminded that our activities are so unique.
As I reflect my own experiences, I have learned a lot from visiting students and senior students through the activities of ICC. One of the uniqueness of our club is its continuity. I believe the essential thing is to pass the experiences and know-hows of ICC, founded in 2006, to next generations of students. Today I was so happy that I made some contribution by publishing the activities of ICC for the first time .
It was so exciting that a lot of people who listened to my presentation showed interest in coming to OMC. I am looking forward to seeing that the international exchanges of OMC grow even more in the future.
